It was always a dream to travel across the land, collecting gym badges, levelling your team and to collect them all! Whether you collected or not, its hard to disagree that Pokémon has a special place in millions of hearts.

A brief every kid dreams of, designing reveal graphics for upcoming variants of the legendary Pokemon Trading Card Game. But enough fanboying, this client required quick turnarounds, creative solutions and a consistent output through our time working together. Whilst quite challenging each card had a pleasantly rewarding outcome, seeing many fans hype up the cards as they release.

This partnership lasted over 12 months, across 6 different expansion packs, with 60 cards and over 900 assets created.

Each card was unique, many different styles and references through the card games great history, including artist specials cards, EX (or shiny cards) and limited editions of some original classics. As well as the truly unique card, each one required a few mediums. Both motion and static graphics, multiple languages additional formats to reach the large audience Pokemon has worldwide.

Adding to that challenge, each collection has its own unique style, different to the last. With this, many hoops had to be jumped through at once, with tight turnarounds, clean and stone set guidelines, with communication between designer and clients crucial on meeting these demands.
